Update A 5th place for the 2011 WSJ in Sweden has been given to the Brunel Scout District. We have been given the extra place because of the large number of Scouts and Explores from Brunel that attended the selection day. This good turn out on the selection day is party due to the hard work Kathryn Challis put in, visiting so many Troops and Units and getting so many Post cards out there. Thank you Kathryn and the WSJ team for all your support so far.
We have now spoken to the 5th highest scoring Scout and his parents, from the selection day to assess his commitment and understanding of the event.
We are proud to now be adding Alex Watkins a Scout from the 151st Bristol to join Elenya, Jake, Emily and Laura as representing the Brunel Scout District on the 2011 World Scout Jamboree in Sweden. Well done all of you.

The Brunel Scout District has now confirmed four Scouts / Explorers selection for the 2011 WSJ.
We have met with the four top scoring Scouts and Explorers from the selection day and their parents. We have talked to them to check their understanding of what the event is all about and their commitment if they were selected.
All four of the top scoring Scouts and Explorers showed an excellent understanding of the event and proved to be totally committed if selected.
Because of this the Brunel Scout District are proud to support the top four scoring Scouts and Explores from the selection day.

Elenya Knops 63rd Bristol
Jake Bufton Solar ESU
Emily Potter 63rd Bristol
Laura Price Solar ESU
Alex Watkins 151st Bristol

2011 World Scout Jamboree (Sweden) Brunel Scout District Selection
Thank you for attending the Avon Scout County selection day for the 2011 World Scout Jamboree (Sweden) on Saturday 13th March 2010.
On the day everyone visited eleven skill bases, these bases were:-
Tent Pitching, Kim’s Games, Archery, Aeroplane, Pioneering, Slider Grids, Building Blocks, Play Acting, Drain Pipes, First Aid Base and Report Back.
At each base everyone was scored from 1 to 5 for the following skills:-
Enthusiasm, Team Member, Initiative, Curious, Meeting People and Communication
The total scores have now been sent to us and we have been asked by Avon Scout County to select four Scouts/Explorers to represent the Brunel Scout District at the 2011 World Scout Jamboree. The scores all the Scouts and Explorers achieved from the Brunel Scout District were very high and we have chosen the top four from the selection day.
Unfortunately, on the day your score was not within the top four, although you did do very well. I would like to thank you for taking part in the day, you should be very proud.
